Mid afternoon fairly quiet just a couple of other chaps in the bar and a family with a chattering child in the side bar. Warm cosy and welcoming with no obvious changes to my previous visit nearly 10 years ago, how time flies! I sat at a table by the crackling log fire and enjoyed my 90 minute stay until my bus to Tenterden.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Larkins - Traditional3.40GoodSubtle bitterness with a dry hoppy kick and subtle caramel notes. An easy 4* had it not been served ice cold.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodAll my SBB expectations satisfied apart from served too cold hence another 4* downgraded.
Larkins - Green Hop Best4.00AcceptableBready bitter earthy malty and head shudderingly resinous complex chewy fare which was a struggle to drink. More Green hop nonsense meaningless to the casual drinker.
