This buzzing traditional town centre boozer is a must visit here, we occupied the cosy snug bar on an early evening visit and enjoyed the atmosphere along with a few locals.

Evening visit until clising time. Loud music was being played which meant that none of the many bars were quiet. Another customer did manage to get it turned down.
Hydes - 1863 Classic Bitter | 3.50
Robinsons - Dizzy Blonde Amarillo Pale Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
03 Nov 2018 (Stephen Harris)
A late-morning visit on arrival in Preston on football business. A small group of friends are occupying Room No. 4 in this superb pub and I join them. I did not note all the beers available.
East London (ELB) - Green Hopped Pale Ale | 4.40 | | Usually when I am away from London I try to drink locally-brewed beer so far as possible. I couldn’t resist this one though, having travelled this morning from just around the corner from the ELB brewery. |
Evan Evans - Artisan Craft Beer: Old Goose | 4.50 | | No mention of Evan Evans on pumpclip and I was duped into thinking this might be a local micro. A rather ordinary, pale Rye Beer. |

Robinsons - Dizzy Blonde Amarillo Pale Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
Titanic - Plum Porter Grand Reserve | 6.50 | Not Tried

A mid-afternoon visit when the pub was very quiet and I had my pick of the rooms. I chose to sit in the glittery room at the back.
Vale of Glamorgan (VOG) - Dark Matter | 4.40 | | A really good, creamy, black Porter. Initially, coffee tastes dominate, but, as you go down the glass, blackcurrant tastes become more and more obvious. |
Empire - Strikes Back | 4.00 | | A golden beer well-flavoured by US hops, although these hide their charms a little beneath a creamy head. |

Robinsons - Old Tom | 8.50 | Not Tried
Titanic - Iceberg | 4.10 | Not Tried

Saturday afternoon and busy with shoppers. We sat in the Smoke Room and chatted with some locals who told us that the upstairs function room was worth a look so after a quick word with the barmaid the landlord came down and showed us around the upstairs part of the pub. We enjoyed some of the excellent Jones's pork pies with our beer. A good range of ales on offer but I have not listed them all.
Robinsons - Pint of Thrones | 4.00 | | A full bodied amber ale, very good indeed. |
Robinsons - Dizzy Blonde Amarillo Pale Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried
09 Dec 2016 (ChrisE)
My favourite of all the pubs that I have visited in Preston, I am not a great fan of Robinsons beers but this pub is a gem. We sat in the Parlour and were soon joined by a group of locals.
Robinsons - Unicorn | 4.20
Ossett - Silver King | 4.30
09 Dec 2016 (Magnus Greel)
Lunchtime and a few at the bar, we sat in the room to the left, the bar parlour.
Hop Back - Taiphoon | 4.20 | | Teeny tiny hint of lemongrass. |
Batemans - Gold | 3.70 | | Zesty refreshing and full bodied. Delicious. |

Marvellously preserved, late-Victorian hotel bars. Crowded at mid-evening on Saturday and a little bit frantic around the bar counter. Respite found in the Smoke Room.
Robinsons - Citra Pale Ale | 3.80 | | A disappointingly bland, golden pint. World Citra stocks will not have been much depleted by this brew. |

Robinsons - Double Hop India Pale Ale | 4.80 | Not Tried

Robinsons - Trooper (superseded by 4.7% version) | 4.80 | Not Tried
26 Apr 2013 (ChrisE)
Second pub on an evening tour of Preston, a real gem of a place to relax and enjoy a pint of well kept ale in heritage pub. I think there were at least eight cask ales from the Robinson's range on sale.
Robinsons - Hoptimus Prime | 4.10
19 Apr 2013 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening. The main event here is boozing. My favourite stop in Preston every time.
