Here for dinner with my brother and we sit in the quiet restaurant area. The bars meanwhile are busy.

Lunch in here with my mother and father to celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary. Apparently I have to tip off the Queen so that a congratulatory telegramme can be sent next year for the Diamond Wedding anniversary. Very nice here. A national brand beer also available, but I forget which.

Lunch with family members to celebrate my father’s birthday – at a pub we know well and have used for many years.

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00AcceptableNot the greatest pint of this beer I’ve ever had unfortunately, it’s flat condition nullifying much of the flavour.

The pub is found in Pett, East Sussex, TN35 4HB.

An old, tiled, village pub. It came to wider attention in 1995 when the Forge Brewery was established in an outbuilding, later becoming the Pett Brewing Company. As well as for its brewing, the pub was equally well-known for its food and for bed and breakfast accommodation. But in the early 2000s the pub closed and land was sold off for development. Pleasingly the pub re-opened in around 2010, with a smaller garden, no outbuildings any longer, a re-sited boules pitch and a lot of new, flat-dwelling neighbours. It still has two small public bars and an adjoining pair of restaurant rooms.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 9 different beers and tried 3 of them.
