The atmosphere in here is, I have decided, remarkably similar to that in the staff canteen at my new workplace. Loud and functional.

Mid-evening, pre-Sainsbury’s visit. There was a noisy quiz taking place, so I took my pint out on to one of the pavement tables at the front. Just one cask beer on the bar.

Mid afternoon and fairly quiet, my first visit here, a large open plan layout reminded me of my old school dining room. A burger bar with real ales, a combination worthy of my approval.

I popped in for a quick late evening drink as I was between buses when I came out of Sainsbury’s. It has become rather expensive in here, but that does not seem to be putting off the crowds.

This pub is now surrounded by high-density flats and seems, whenever I walk past, to be a roaring success. A pleasant, if a bit noisy, place for a quick mid-evening pint on the way home from work.

Right next door to Sainsbury’s – so I came in here with my groceries in the mid-evening, before braving the walk home in the cold. Customers outnumbered the staff, but only just.

The pub is found in Stratford, Greater London, E20 1DB.
A new pub in Celebration Avenue, opened in November 2014 in a modern residential development in the area which started life as part of the Athletes' Village at the London Olympics. It is two minutes’ walk from Stratford International station. The bar consists of a large open-plan space with bar counter along one side and a kitchen at the rear. 4 handpumps. Closed spring 2024.
