13:30 Not attracted by the beer but we hadn't visited this pub on our previous Hitchin crawls so we thought we would rectify that. Completely changed since I last visited about twenty years ago. The bar has been swapped from the right hand side to the left and the whole interior is very plush. The rear dining area was more like a canteen originally. Very busy with diners.

The remnant of a much larger coaching inn the majority of which was knocked down between the wars to build a Woolworth's. The remaining pub is a long thin building with a small snug area to the front, the bar, and then the dining area.
