A fair crowd in for 4pm on a Thursday. Just 2 beers on at £4.50. But a small notice on the door said 50p off if you pay cash. Which I did.
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Not the most interesting beer, and badged as the house ale, but it was in good condition. |
16 Feb 2024 (Magnus Greel)
Early afternoon busy with most tables taken so we perched at the 2 seater in the window 'wedge' and enjoyed our beers there.
Parkway (formerly Glastonbury Ales) - Jail Bird | 3.80 | | American hopped refreshing dry citrus fruity fare |
Bexley - Anchor Bay IPA | 4.80 | Not Tried
09 Jun 2023 (Magnus Greel)
Brought a group of friends who'd not been here before arriving shortly after lunchtime opening, we were the first customers thus bagged the large table on the left side. Needless to say first impressions were most favourable!!
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | A rich blend of biscuit, nutty and chocolate malt flavours with fruit hop notes in fine form. Badged as Fez House Bitter. |
Mad Cat - Jester | 4.00 | | Spicy fruity peppery nectar in perfect condition, clarity flavour and temperature. |
Tonbridge - Traditional | 3.60 | Not Tried
15 Sep 2022 (Dosser)
4 beers on, all under 4.2% and at £4 a pint.
BritHop (originally cuckoo or contract brewed at Franklins) - Sweet Symphony Mosaic Amber Ale | 4.20 | | Nothing special. |
22 Sep 2021 (Dosser)
2 beers on and a much reduced price list from last time I visited.
Four Candles - Green Hop Ale | 3.80 | | Not bad but label said 3.6% |

Stop 2. Busy here. Rather disappointing choice of ales - but the decor is as fascinating as ever - we sat at the old pin table.
Parkway (formerly Glastonbury Ales) - Giggle and Titter | 3.80
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10 | Not Tried
22 Oct 2020 (Dosser)
2 beers on and only men in the bar apart from the barmaid. All change since lockdown. Prices up 40%. But if you buy a local token 50p off a pint. So, £4.30 a pint or £4 tonight. For a guy from ramsgit.
Parkway (formerly Glastonbury Ales) - Festiveale | 4.60 | | Not enjoyable. £4 a pint. Up from £3 pre covid. |

Got here at last - long term on my “wish list” and have had a couple of failed attempts previously. Nearly had a third one - cycled on a Saturday for an early opening day only to find they had a minor flood and weren’t open for another half hour
Eventually had a very good pint and a pleasant chat with the guv.
Angels & Demons (now uses McCanns branding not its own) - McCanns Stout | 4.20 | | Smooth with an excellent body. |
Goody Ales - Bleangate Brewery - Genesis | 3.50 | Not Tried
Tonbridge - Golden Rule (was 3.5%) | 3.20 | Not Tried

I love this place. A great atmosphere in here this evening, the guv was off duty and sat at the same table as me. We had a good chat about micropubs in Hartlepool and Axminster.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter | 3.70 | | The guv was drinking this and he said it was good, so I just had to have one, nice to drink Sheps on gravity dispense. |
Buxton - Gatekeeper | 4.10
Mad Cat - Crispin Ale | 4.00 | Not Tried
23 Aug 2019 (Dosser)
Beers kept running out here. Saw 5 ales feature, all under 4.1%
Iron Pier - Perry St Pale | 3.70 | | This was the best beer we tried here. |
Hop Fuzz - Martello (superseded by 4.4% then 4.5% versions) | 3.80 | | Nothing special |
Romney Marsh - Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Not enjoyable |
