My first visit here. I had a good chat with the chap behind the bar about pubs in Islington and Whitechapel, especially the former Old Parr's Head in Upper Street, Islington.

1700ish and a few others about. First visit here I found the smell of previously fried food a bit overpowering, plus I found the owner was trying too hard to promote the place to us, including the lure of a free barbecque on Saturday evenings.

Just after evening opening at 1630. Half a dozen customers within 10 minutes. Nice relaxed place.

After work visit. Friendly pub where on Fridays they give out free food. Today it was in the form of a barbecue! The beer is served on gravity from firkins behind the bar cooled by jackets.
