The pub is found in Mayfair, Central London, W1S 4RX.
This street corner pub was established as the Kings Head in 1710, becoming the King Johns Head from 1843. It was rebuilt in its present form, and the name reverted to Kings Head, in 1870. For many years it then traded as Shelley’s, named after the family who owned it, but became the Kings Head for the third time when rebranded as a Nicholson’s by M&B. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it became forgotten which king it is actually named after, and two feature on the pub sign (Charles II and George II). The ground floor area is partitioned into three separate drinking spaces, and there is a first floor dining room.
We have visited this pub once, seen 6 different beers and tried 1 of them.
