Brief evening visit after mucking up the bus journey to get there, resulting in a lot of walking. First visit ever there and very impressed, making a return visit mandatory.

The pub is found in Plumstead, Greater London, SE18 3SZ.

Street corner house in Herbert Road, adjacent to the Barnfield Gardens estate. Sidney Herbert the 1st Baron of Lea, gave his name to the local area and the then new military hospital, now luxury apartments on Shooters Hill. Closed in 2020 after retirement of the long term licensee John Hanley. Re-opened December 2020 with new crew in charge. Very community focused with an island bar and three handpumps.

We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 4 different beers and tried them all.
