If I had not been here before I would have thought it was quite nice, however I much preferred the pub as it was before. The nice bar on the left where I enjoyed missing many a train has gone, and the main servery is now on the right hand side of the pub.

My previous visit was shortly after Harvey's had relinquished the lease here. Now new signs outside and what a transformation inside. I liked it as it was as there are too few dark woody village locals without another biting the dust.

Pub of the day for both Andrew and myself I think. Superb pub, next to the railway station in a beautiful village. Lots of stone buildings including the pub and a view of the South Downs. Restaurant to one side. Good group of regulars in for mid Friday afternoon.

Possibly one of the nicest pubs I've ever been to. It had the feel of an old eighteenth century school house. We arrived about 3.30pm and it was quite full of locals which was a really good sign. The view out of the window was idyllic and made me think of John Masefield’s Box of Delights. Wish I could come here more.

Harvey's - Old Ale (or Sussex XXXX Old Ale)4.30ExcellentSlightly sour red cherry and plum flesh. Give it a bit longer to develop more sourness and it'll be a 5 out of 5.

The pub is found in Glynde, East Sussex, BN8 6SS.

Formerly a two room traditional pub located very close to Glynde railway station this pub was leased by and run as Harvey's Brewery tenancy until about 2011. The interior has had a serious makeover and fancy seemingly expensive food has been added. Now sells various real ales mainly from Sussex. The area to the right is now the main bar area when it used to be a smaller bar counter to the left hand side. Closed in 2017 but future remains uncertain.

We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 5 different beers and tried 2 of them.
