Late evening until a fair while past midnight, superb atmosphere we propped up the bar and had some entertaining conversation with a faux Walter Mitty character who was amusingly yet unknowingly egged on by the mischievous barmaids.

A Joule's house in Derby Street, the main shopping street. An ancient house itself originally owned by the original Joule's Brewery. Inside are cosy hideaways, oak panelling, leather settles, parquet floors and an open fire. Outside a fine garden to the rear.
