Bear & Ragged StaffExceptional07 May 2013 The complete dark beer. Perfect balance and body, great fruity and malty and darker tastes. Straight out of the barrel and spot on.
Bear & Ragged StaffExceptional04 May 2013 The beer of the festival for me. Very deep ruby red in colour. The flavour is a complementing mixture of fruit, hops and malt all in perfecr balance. Great condition, straight from the barrel. Superb.

Philip PirripGood03 May 2013 £3.20 pp great value making a mockery of some prices in Godalming earlier today

Nick WillisExcellent30 Apr 2013 An excellent mild, not to be rushed!

The Griffin Inn, Shustoke, Warwickshire

Bear & Ragged StaffExcellent20 Apr 2013 One of the best beers of its type.
Bear & Ragged StaffGood01 Jan 2012 Not quite as I remember it. A bit thin on body and the dark tastes weren't as full as I expected, then again I think this is a dark mild so perhaps they shouldn't be too full on. Didn't punch its 6.0% weight.

BlairExcellent21 Mar 2008 Delicious, very dark with a more pronounced nutty flavour than I've noticed before. This one one of the first to sell out unfortunately.

The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton, Central London

IanGood12 Aug 2006 I have seen this at a lot of festivals, but never had it. Black/ruby colour with lasting beige head. Bit of sickly malt. No real hop but dryish finish. Syrupy malt. In fact very syrupy malt. Couldn't drink too much of this. Nothing bad at all about it, but it's like liquid malt.

AndrewAcceptable04 Feb 2005 Tasted like Rother Valley 'Level Best'. Not unpleasant but not for me really
