Early evening busy in all bars we managed to find a table in the parlour bar. Many years since my last visit to this gem of a pub well before the inception of this site.

I'd been plotting a visit to this pub for probably more than ten years so it had been a long time coming. It did not fail to disappoint! An absolute gem, full of character and a cracking atmosphere. I dare say I'll be returning soon.

My first ever visit to this classic pub. Chris B and I got here at 7:05 – five minutes after opening we had thought. In fact it was 65 minutes after opening and the place was rammed. We eventually got seats in the back lounge and just soaked it all up. Wonderful place. There were two or three guest beers on sale also, but I did not record their names.
