Met Lynne's family here. 3 hand pumps but two beer clip’s turned the wrong way round. The barmaid offered me a bottle of gloombar and I almost chocked. A pint of soda and lime went down much better.

I did not know this pub was here but I found several references to it in a book about the history of drinking in Deal so I decided to pay a visit. This was soon after 12:00 on a Sunday and just a few customers at the bar but I got the impression that they were going to be busy later on.
