The pub is found in Writtle, Essex, CM1 3DU.
Traditional village pub built in 1813 with a small public bar, an equally compact lounge and a covered patio by the road. A larger partly covered patio can be found behind the pub. Occasional beer festivals and other events held. Note the old Gray's sign in the public bar. Beers are served direct from cask. Generally a quiet atmosphere, the TV is used for sporting events. Homemade stonebaked Pizzas available Thursday to Saturday evenings.
We have visited this pub once, seen 5 different beers and tried 3 of them.
