Whilst a small group of us waited patiently for 12.00 opening a sandwich board outside the neighbouring Conservative Club proudly proclaiming 'Doom Bar back for trial run' provided amusement once spotted and continued to do so until the reassuring clunks of bolts and locks being released from their chastity allowed us entry. We were here for the annual cider festival however I had intended to sample the odd ale or two but the competition was that good I never got round to doing so.

14:00 Having had a ride on the Leighton Buzzard narrow gauge railway came here for a drink as this is the Bedfordshire CAMRA POTY for 2015 and the only one of the six county pubs going forward to be judged for the East Anglian POTY that I have never visited. Impressed. Good beer selection, friendly atmosphere and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a beer. In my opinion the winner should be either here or the Orange Tree, Baldock. I must say though that faced with the drive back home to South Norfolk this felt an awful long way from East Anglia.
Leighton Buzzard - Centennial I.P.A. | 6.80 | | Bit strong for the first one of the day but I wanted to try the local brew. Very tasty. |
