Evening. Meeting venue for our monthly Friday Evening Group. Well patronised house in the High Street. Many were occupied with pop-out beermats which could be made into penguins.

Late afternoon and evening visit to this good town centre pub. We enjoyed making penguins out of the pop-out beer mats.

I had never been here before but I decided to visit here after reading Mr. Croxford's review, a very good pub indeed.

14:00 Having had a ride on the Leighton Buzzard narrow gauge railway came here for a drink as this is the Bedfordshire CAMRA POTY for 2015 and the only one of the six county pubs going forward to be judged for the East Anglian POTY that I have never visited. Impressed. Good beer selection, friendly atmosphere and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a beer. In my opinion the winner should be either here or the Orange Tree, Baldock. I must say though that faced with the drive back home to South Norfolk this felt an awful long way from East Anglia.

Leighton Buzzard - Centennial I.P.A.6.80ExcellentBit strong for the first one of the day but I wanted to try the local brew. Very tasty.
