NOTE this pub has changed hands since 2018 and is now trading under its original name. Early afternoon visit, not normally opened on a Tuesday (nor a Monday) but they were getting ready for a wake and were happy to serve me. Friendly couple.

Lunchtime visit - busy with at least two groups of cyclists and others taking advantage of the Wednesday “bus-pass” special lunch menu. I had an interesting chat with a septuagenarian cyclist who was mulling his Street Light Porter by plunging a red-hot poker into his pint. Novel.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Canterbury Brewers - Freewheel Gold3.90ExcellentBrewed for the pub - probably a variant of Foundy Man’s Gold - but slightly weaker and with a more hoppy bite. Excellent condition and flavour.
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Torpedo4.50Not TriedI was so impressed with the house ale that I didn’t try this.
Canterbury Brewers - Street Light Porter5.80Not TriedNot officially on - but a local knew it was in the cellar and was being treated to some straight from the cask.

Late afternoon visit, and, amazingly, another scribe has been in today too! Few people in, and several LocAle types on.

Sunday lunchtime - sat in the large garden and enjoyed the eclectic ambience of this pub. Clearly cycle-centric but not a chain (sic). I like it.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Canterbury Brewers - Red Rye5.60GoodA full bodied ale with a lovely after-bite.
Canterbury Brewers - Foundry Man's Gold4.00Not TriedLooking forward to this - but ran out before a full pint was pulled.

Early visit. The predicted bad weather meant the bus was taken. We came for a special bike parts sale taking place, in a large marquee in the garden. The roaring log fire was a welcome sight today. Good hot/cold food, in the cafe style seating area partaken, including a big selection of specialist teas. One handpump from Canterbury Ales was noted.
