12:00 Time for a couple before a ride on the North York Moors Railway. Busy. Chat with the Landlord revealed that he still gets some beer in kilderkins.

Best drinkers pub in Whitby by a good distance. Three comfortable rooms each with their own character. Helpful, knowledgeable staff.

Overall ok atmosphere, although can be busy with locals at times. However - an excellent beer range, all kept in excellent condition. Dogs welcome, as are kids but in seperate family room. Located just opposite the tourist booth and train station at the top end of Whitby. When visited, beers from Sharp's, Copper Dragon, Black Dog, Daleside, Adnams and Timothy Taylors on offer.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Dog - Whitby Abbey Ale4.00ExcellentRefreshing, golden ale, with a lovely spicy hop profile. Served in excellent condition, and a nice substitute for TT Golden Best or Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. Very easy going session ale.
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00GoodSlightly briny, salty inital taste fading into a sweet but bitter pint. Amber in colour. Cult classic - can be hard to find in Yorkshire.
Daleside - Blonde3.90GoodStraw - coloured session ale, crisp but with a full, slightly malty body.
