12.15ish arrival I was the first customer until a few folk drifted in during my stay. No obvious changes since my first visit 25 or so years ago, the pub still retains it superb worn out shabby charm and yet to be turned into an IKEA showroom dare I say it. Good to see their renowned Thai menu still going although now priced at £10 but still good value in today's climate.
| Portobello - VPA | 4.00 | | An easy 4* for this malty nutty dry and peppery brown ale. Complemented my delicious Thai green curry perfectly. |
| Portobello - Westway Pale | 3.80 | | A bit hazy but in good condition for this flavoursome hoppy fruity fare with hints of citrus and yes, pineapple! |
| Adnams - Ghost Ship | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Marston's - Pineapple Amber Ale (house ale) | 4.50 | Not Tried | |
| Brentwood - Porter | 4.80 | Not Tried | |

Stunning back street local. Nice friendly local characters at the bar, reminded me of the BBC comedy Early Doors!
I have not listed all the beers.
| Park - Killcat Pale | 3.70 | | Hazy, possibly unfined? But an excellent pint full of wonderful citrus and a hint of elderflower! |

Early evening and heaving, I managed to find a seat at the bar with customers bustling about me. Despite this a superb friendly atmosphere as always here.

Almost uncomfortably busy early on a Tuesday evening, the two staff members a little over-stretched at the bar. Did not really allow for appreciation of what a fine old pub this is. A beer called ‘Dogfight’ was also on sale but had no indication of brewery name on the clip. By chance I discovered that a CAMRA discount is available here.
| Stod Fold - Uncle Sam | 5.20 | | Pale gold in colour. Masses of US hops in this, but not quite hitting the right balance in my opinion. |
| Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried | |

I moved on from the Junction Tavern when it became too crowded. Five minutes later I was in here, where to my surprise another beer festival was in full swing with casks on a stillage in the back yard. Cruise Ship Tony was in and we talked world travel whilst he ran through his photos from his recent trip to North Korea. A few other beers were available in addition to those listed.
| Milestone - American Pale Ale | 4.60 | | Bitter malt taste, with US hops less prominent than expected. |
| Arkell's - Queen's Tipple | 4.50 | | Almost orange in colour, sweet, syrupy and a bit flat from the stillage. |
