Recently reopened after a short period of closure, a friendly welcome by one lady behind the bar before we heard the dreaded words form another one "Are you eating with us tonight?" This was early evening and as far as I could see everybody was just having a drink.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride | 4.10
Sharp's - Doom Bar | 4.00 | Not Tried

I arrived before it had opened and as time was short I didn't wait around.

Came here for lunch as it is run by my ex-PA. Only one beer on as demand has been a bit low over the past couple of weeks, but the Pedigree was still in good condition. Rother Valley Level Best was the next beer on. Not too many people in for lunch, but the sausages were lovely.
Marston's - Pedigree | 4.50 | | Copper coloured. Yeasty, caramel, hop aroma. Good in mouth with slightly sweet caramel and then the finish had more yeast and hop on the dry finish. |

Very well done refurbishment of this lovely village pub inbetween the church and the village hall. Good menu and excellent food as well as the 3 rotating beers make me come back here.
Rother Valley - Level Best | 4.00 | | Copper/orange colour, lovely malts and good balance on this well made beer. Caramel and orange flavours leading to a good hoppy finish |
White - Full Nelson | 4.00 | | Mid brown session best bitter. Fine, not that remarkable |
Badger (Hall & Woodhouse) - The Fursty Ferret | 4.40 | Not Tried

The current number of trains stopping at Appledore is under threat which would be a damn shame as it is one of the best ways to get to both the Red Lion at Snargate and also this pub in Brookland. Anyone reading this who wants to protest should do so to South Central trains. Excellent pub this though
Woodforde's - Wherry | 3.80 | | Very hoppy, excellent session beer which I got the last knockings of. Superb |
Titanic - Iceberg | 4.10 | Not Tried
Bath Ales - SPA | 3.70 | Not Tried

Spread out country pub - lots of oak beams, chunky tables and leather chairs - good food by all accounts. Cycled to Yew and Ewe on a blistering hot Saturday and sat in the very manicured garden. Pretty much the only people here.

Hot Saturday late afternoon. Only 4 customers sat on the patio in the garden. Very pleasant, listening to the bell ringers practise their wedding peals in the church next door
Titanic - Iceberg | 4.10 | | Very cold, very refreshing. Opaque wheat beer with lemon and honey flavours. Still a bit of boiled vegetables on the finish |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
Bath Ales - SPA | 3.70 | Not Tried

After missing the last train home from Appledore, I took the 20 minute cycle ride out to Brookland to this wonderful pub. I'm a little biased as I know the landlord and landlady very well, but everyone I have taken here loves it. Next to the church with an excellent patio and garden, the food is excellent and so is the B&B. Friendly service and a very pleasant continental breakfast. Wish I could have stayed longer. Up to 3 real ales plus a real cider
Titanic - Iceberg | 4.10 | | Had this at Doris' earlier in the evening and did not know what to make of it. This was so much better. More chilled and extremely refreshing after a 20 minute cycle ride. Still some odd vegetal flavours, but worth a pint just to try it |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried | Regularly on |
Bath Ales - SPA | 3.70 | Not Tried

Tables in the restaurant were about 50% full on this Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime. The food is excellent and the service is friendly. A really nice pub that has a no smoking policy throughout. Modern wood interior is complmented by the original brick fire place. Up to 3 real ales on plus cider.
Hop Back - Summer Lightning | 5.00 | | I was driving so could only have a half. Golden summer beer with some hops, citrus fruit and a light creamy feel for a 5% beer |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
Moorhouse's - Black Cat Mild | 3.40 | Not Tried

Friendly pub/restaurant in Brookland next to church. Does games/music on Monday, a petanque league and quiz nights. No smoking gives it a nice atmosphere with lots of wood. Recently renovated means it has a slightly modern feel balanced by the real fire and beams etc. Food is excellent and there are up to 3 beers that change weekly. Real cider is also available.
Moorhouse's - Black Cat Mild | 3.40 | | Black colour, chocolate malt nose, hint of petrol. Excellent malts iwth grainey burnt malt finish. Some acidity, goodish finish. A really tasty dark mild |
Adnams - Broadside | 4.70 | Not Tried
Rother Valley - Level Best | 4.00 | Not Tried
