Easter Beer Festival. Heaving- and I mean heaving- with it being such a beautiful evening there musy have been 120 people outside. A fair collection of beers; not all from the Marston's stable thankfully- and tastefully done in the marquee again
BeerABVScoreNotes
Castle Rock - Kiss Me Kate5.00ExcellentFirst commemmorative ale for the upcoming nuptials. Was lovely. Sweet, lots of honey, as well as mild hops and lovely bitter aftertaste. Will try to track down some bottles for home
Sarah Hughes - Dark Ruby6.00GoodNice mild, dark, not overly flavousome but the pleasant feeling in mouth belies the stenegth
Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin IPA (was Ruby Beer, was Hobgoblin)4.50PoorTried it, didn't buy it, dark, overwhelmingly toffee and caramel, just not me

Beautiful afternoon and invited by a couple of mates for a quick drink. Didn't go inside to see what the choice of ale was, however I would imagine it would be as uninspiring as it has recently become

Unscheduled quick visit, 7.15pm on a Sunday. Again, standing room only, although not too packed with a convivial atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Pedigree4.50GoodHad without sparkler and proved to be a tasty pint, my past few pints of Peddy have been pretty good, which is nice considering it's everywhere round me.

6.30pm visit, absolutely packed; standing room only. Incredibly busy for a post-work pint!

Marston's - Pedigree4.50ExcellentFinally, a really good pint of this. Subtle favours were present, even some hops in the mouth. Ever so slightl,y cold which is a common complaint here

Quiz night. Packed, no seats so a short visit
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wychwood (now brewed at Banks's) - Dirty Tackle4.00GoodQuite pleasant. Thought tasted quite similar to the Peddy I had earlier in the night, although the beer was somewhat darker. Very late hoppiness, which lasted some time after beer drunk.
