Around mid day and I wanted something to eat so I came in here and had a meal that included a drink. A very pleasant Spoons, service at the bar was good and friendly and it was not too busy. There were the usual cask ales and a fair selection of guests from the current festival offering.
Rooster's - Long Shadow | 3.60 | | In tip top condition. |

Monday evening.
Tillingbourne - Evolution No 3 | 5.50 | | Pump clip said "Epic full on IPA style Hop monster - only for the most hardcore hop enthusiast". I did not think the taste reflected the description. Could have been hanging around a bit too long. |

Busy on a Tuesday evening but able to get a table and food service was quick.
Dark Star - Revelation | 5.70 | | Pale and hoppy proper IPA style with good burst of citrus hop balanced by a strong malt base. Full bodied with a lingering fruity citrus hop finish. My score 16/20. |

Quite busy on a Tuesday evening.
Shepherd Neame - Švyturys Baltijos Red Ale | 5.50 | | Red coloured, quite bitter but rather thin tasting for its strength with a dry, bitter finish. My score 14/20. |
30 Aug 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Fairly busy late on a Thursday afternoon, but efficient service and plenty of room meant that there was no trouble getting a table and food arrived promptly.
Dark Star - Hylder Blonde | 4.20 | | Pale and hoppy with citrus hop dominating but with a gentle flowery elder flavour detectable. Good malt base too to give a full flavoured and refreshing beer. My score 16/20. |
Westerham - Audit Ale | 6.20 | Not Tried | |
20 Aug 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Fairly busy early on a Saturday evening.
Adnams - Gunhill | 4.00 | | Consistently good ruby malty mild style ale with good toffee and biscuity malt and some berry fruit hop taste. My score 16/20. |
