Around mid day and I wanted something to eat so I came in here and had a meal that included a drink. A very pleasant Spoons, service at the bar was good and friendly and it was not too busy. There were the usual cask ales and a fair selection of guests from the current festival offering.

Rooster's - Long Shadow3.60ExcellentIn tip top condition.

Tillingbourne - Evolution No 35.50GoodPump clip said "Epic full on IPA style Hop monster - only for the most hardcore hop enthusiast". I did not think the taste reflected the description. Could have been hanging around a bit too long.

Busy on a Tuesday evening but able to get a table and food service was quick.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Revelation5.70ExcellentPale and hoppy proper IPA style with good burst of citrus hop balanced by a strong malt base. Full bodied with a lingering fruity citrus hop finish. My score 16/20.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Švyturys Baltijos Red Ale5.50AcceptableRed coloured, quite bitter but rather thin tasting for its strength with a dry, bitter finish. My score 14/20.

Fairly busy late on a Thursday afternoon, but efficient service and plenty of room meant that there was no trouble getting a table and food arrived promptly.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hylder Blonde4.20ExcellentPale and hoppy with citrus hop dominating but with a gentle flowery elder flavour detectable. Good malt base too to give a full flavoured and refreshing beer. My score 16/20.
