On the way to Winchester's Christmas Fair on a damp and mild Monday lunchtime. A few family groups: we debated the treatment of great aunts.Good old style pub.

12:30 Dining room reserved for a private party, one table reserved in the public bar for group of dining ladies. Two chaps standing at the bar. Excellent comfortable country pub.

A cold Saturday lunchtime in December. Beaters from the local shoot in the public bar:tables full of diners and their dogs in the other. Real ale served by gravity from a stillage at the back of the bar.Bottles of Mackeson's stout to be had.

The pub is found in Tichborne, Hampshire, SO24 0NA.
Thatched pub in a pretty village. Two bars, a garden and dog friendly. Re-opened in early September 2022 following a refurbishment that includes a new rear extension to enable additional dining and connecting the previously outdoor loos to the pub. The pub had shut in 2021 following the death of the previous landlord.
We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 5 of them.
