My first visit here since Jo retired, a very friendly and welcoming pub, the lady behind the bar got me involved in a local ale trail and some customers informed me that the Pilot in Maidstone is currently closed, a fact that I later confirmed.

Popped down to see licensee Jo Bowell ex of Pilot who leaving on the 14th after 8.5 years here. Pub will then close for 1 month's refurb. Enjoyed games of bar billiard's and Toad in the hole. Jo says these are staying at pub after refurb.
