Time for a quick one in here when I find I have a 30 minute wait for a train from Brixton to Bromley South.

Early evening. I sat outside for a while, but the tables here receive a constant stream of beggars and, whilst sympathetic to their plight, it got too much for me and I moved inside.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Vibrant Forest - Mosaic5.00ExcellentAn excellent, golden, hoppy pint.
Vibrant Forest - Summit5.00AcceptableGolden, dry and hoppy. Something not quite right though.

Tonight sees the launch here of Brixton Brewery, with a ‘meet the brewer’ event at 8pm. Unsurprisingly, there is a big crowd in attendance. Three beers are available in cask form and the same three in bottles. Unfortunately the casks have been a little over-primed and are misbehaving a bit, so only two have been put on sale by the time I leave.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brixton - Electric I.P.A.6.50ExcellentPoured from a bottle. A satisfying, smooth, strong IPA. A friend also tried the cask version and said it was just as excellent as the bottle.
Brixton - Reliance Pale Ale4.20GoodA cloudy, amber colour. This is in the American Pale Ale style, with strong, fruity hop tastes.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Raven6.60GoodBlack and strong, and I thought I was tasting aniseed from somewhere.
Brixton - Effra Ale4.50AcceptablePoured from a bottle. A brown, fruity beer with some caramel flavours.

Quirky furniture but overall rather spartan I felt.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kent - Craft Pale3.80GoodGood hoppy pale ale with hints of citrus hop and a good fruity hop finish. My score 15/20.

With the excellent Brixton Sunday Farmers Market in full swing outside it was no surprise that this pub was starting to fill at lunchtime. Yet another excellent addition to the London beer scene.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Thorny Goat6.00ExcellentA black porter with a tan head, this beer has a huge hit of roasted coffee beans. Brewed in collaboration with the Mountain Goat Brewery of Australia.
Magic Rock - Craft Magic3.20GoodOrangey/ gold in colour. A brave attempt to bring the fruity US Pale Ale style to a low alcohol format. Hazy and certainly hoppy, but not quite enough body I thought.

The pub is found in Brixton, Greater London, SW9 8PD.

The fourth pub in the Craft/Cask chain, opening in September 2012 in Brixton Station Road. This is a small, street corner premises, very handy for Brixton tube and railway stations, and very much at the heart of the much-revived Brixton town centre. There is ‘industrial’ seating at ground floor level, more seats upstairs, and an extensive area of pavement seating. Ten handpumps, twenty keg taps on a huge arch above the bar counter and fridges full of bottles – definitely a destination pub. Lined glasses in use.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 38 different beers and tried 12 of them.
