Late afternoon to early evening visit, fairly quiet in this modern but not too trendy bar, this might change if the area becomes more gentrified.

Evening until close. Further respite from wind and rain.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Oakham - Attila7.50ExcellentAs I arrived with seconds before closing time I thought this would take all of drinking up time to sip but its innocence lead to a much quicker end. Only an hour later did its anaesthesia become apparent though

Evening. Very impressed by the enthusiasm and knowledge about Oakham beers by bar staff, one of whom had served his apprenticeship at Peterborough's Brewery Tap. Watched the chef working hard cleaning his kitchen on the large TV screen. Had my first ever two thirds of a pint glass of beer - the Citra.

Quiet in the early evening. Bar staff were receiving a briefing on Oakham beers from a brewery representative which made interesting listening.

The pub is found in Kennington, Greater London, SE11 4RS.

In Kennington Park Road, established as the Mansion House by the 1860s, this pub closed in 2006 and there were almost immediately rumours that it had been acquired from Shepherd Neame by the Oakham Brewery of Peterborough. It then lay resolutely empty for six and a half years whilst the upper floors were converted to residential use, until re-opening as an Oakham house in March 2013. There is a modernised, single-bar layout. Turn right as you go in if you are only there for the beer, left for the dining area. The décor includes some salvaged brewing equipment from the former Highgate Brewery. Sells a wide range of Oakham beers – rather quirkily only available in third, two-thirds or pint measures. Large TV screen shows the kitchen in full live action whether cooking or cleaning. Had 2 banks each of 5 handpumps plus a singleton pump for Oakham own brand cider but latterly Oakham is no longer involved here and with real ale no longer available at all.

We have visited this pub 10 times, seen 14 different beers and tried 8 of them.
