Brakspear (at Marston's Wychwood) - Bitter | 3.40 | As a refresher, this pint worked well, although fruity, tangy, traditional, brown bitters are no longer really my favourite style. | |

The pub is found in Aston, Berkshire, RG9 3DG.
A marvellous, Victorian country pub in an off-the-beaten-track location. Acquired by the local Brakspear’s Brewery in 1884, it was rebuilt in 1890 as a hotel, to cater to fishing and boating parties, as well as the local ferry traffic. It has a substantial, high-ceilinged lounge and a smaller saloon bar, the latter really more of a public bar in character. Glass cases full of stuffed fish are everywhere, along with assorted mammalian taxidermy and other interesting clutter. Rear garden.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 5 different beers and tried 1 of them.
