It had not been my intention to visit this pub, but... i) I was travelling, and a rest would be a nice idea, and ii) I spotted the banner which announced that a small beer festival was underway. So, at a couple of minutes past noon, I became their first customer of the day.

Country pub on a very minor road, set in woodland between Hythe and Fawley Oil Refinery. Much modernised inside, with a garden to the rear.
