Evening. Very quiet, friendly Guv. Presume Rack of Ale Micropub must have had an impact on business. Found out afterwards CAMRA discount applies but I was not quizzed as to possible membership.

CAMRA'S LOCAL CHANNEL DRAUGHT MAGAZINE REPORTS PIER THREE CLOSED IN DECEMBER 2013. Located in Bench Street just seawards of the Market Square this is a shop conversion but not small enough to be a Micropub and it sells keg and spirits too. Its website calls it a family run bistro and it does sell a range of hot meals but for readers its real ales and ciders will be of paramount interest. Sofa seating towards the street windows with tables and chairs at the rear. A pinewood bar counter with 5 handpumps and usually 1 real ale cask on the counter top selling from gravity dispense. Concentration on selling Kentish products but "foreigners" do appear. Discount on food and drink for card carrying CAMRA members. Fish tank in the corner provides a homely feel.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried both.
