Late evening visit. Did not know what to expect after my last real ale-less encounter here.
| Crate - Session IPA | 3.60 |  | A Blackadder Mrs McMurk beer if ever there was one. Pretty horrible tasting too but lemonade splashes cured that. Another customer took one sip of his and asked for lemonade too. Quite unsolicited another member of bar staff turned the clip round and started cleaning the lines. Looks like we were served the lees. |

10.30pm and a pub with no beer! Well at least not a single handpumped real ale on offer. In response to "Busy day?" the barmaid responded "Mmmmmmmmm".

Just a very brief visit here as I managed to arrive a couple of minutes after the friend I was trying to meet had left. Not all the rooms were open and only a couple of tables were not laid for dining in the early evening.

Evening until close. First visit here. The new kitchen (which is in open view) looks exceedingly well appointed and the chef, with whom I spoke, is a real enthusiast, but it was the beer I was here for.
