The pub is found in Aldgate, Central London, E1 8DE.
This pub was present by 1806 and the present building dates from around 1856 and is Grade 2 listed, although in recent times the pub has expanded into the more modern building next door. Formerly a free house, it was acquired by Shepherd Neame in the late 1980s, and was extensively refurbished following a fire in 1989. The bar space is in two halves, reflecting the fact that it originates as two buildings knocked together.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 5 different beers and tried 1 of them.
