I liked this welcoming old pub. A good mix of drinkers and diners at lunchtime.

Evening. Friendly enough welcome and goodbye. Rather garish large red "Drink 18" sign above the bar back seemed out of place. No CAMRA discount was proferred, how does a casual visitor know?

At the southern end of the High Street in Butts Road this ancient pub has also doubled as a court house. A wide but shallow building with a mixture of contemporary decor and country kitchen furniture. 5 handpumps. CAMRA card holders' discount given.
