Visits Details
07 Mar 2020 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until 10.30pm close, really 10pm as no more orders taken after then.
Bexley - Howbury 29 Mild Ale | 3.50 | | Good attempt at a nutty dark mild, Bexley's first one I think |
Bexley - 6 Nations English Hopped Pale Ale | 4.40 | | Bordering on poor, especially when served at the brewery tap. No head, no lacing, no condition and a slight haze with an appley taste - a chore to finish. |
Moor - Nor'Hop | 4.10 | Not Tried
15 Mar 2019 (Magnus Greel)
Mid afternoon met up with a few of our Friday Evening Group pre venue, another group of chaps arrived shortly after followed by another couple which left standing room only here.
Bexley - Howbury 20 Cascade | 5.00 | | Peachy fruit punch belied its ABV putting it in the 'dangerously drinkable' category! |
Bexley - Hills & Holes Kent Hop Pale | 3.80 | | Refreshing and light session PA |
Moor - Raw | 4.30 | Not Tried
01 Jul 2018 (Stephen Harris)
A lunch-time visit following a scenic, if hot, walk along the riverside from Thamesmead to Erith and then a bus ride up the hill. A scattering of customers and the talk is about beer and breweries and beer names.
Breakwater - Spring Tide | 5.00 | | A fragrant / floral golden beer. Very much to my liking and again in very fine condition. |
Bexley - Hills & Holes Kent Hop Pale | 3.80 | | A good, session-strength Bitter. Quite full-bodied for its strength and in very good condition. |
Bexley - BOB (Bexley's Own Beer) | 4.20 | Not Tried
13 Jun 2018 (Magnus Greel)
1730 and open already with a couple of customers in, friendly and enthusiastic welcome from the son of the owner who was also present. We were offered generous amounts of free bowls of tasty peanuts to soak up the beers.
Redemption - Pale Ale | 3.80 | | Dry, crisp light coloured zesty and tangy, superb. |
Bexley - Hills & Holes Kent Hop Pale | 3.80 | | Dark in colour and too sweet for what I expect from a PA |
Bexley - Session Ruby Ale | 3.70 | Not Tried
10 May 2018 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until 10pm close. Makes Barnehurst well worth visiting when it had no attraction before. Quite deep discussion with behind the bar about cask and keg.
Thames Side - Heron Ale | 3.70
Bexley - Hills & Holes Kent Hop Pale | 3.80
Bexley - Session Ruby Ale | 3.70 | Not Tried
18 Apr 2018 (Philip Pirrip)
Evening visit until 10pm close. My first visit here and nearly caught out by the rule that last drinks must be ordered no later than 20 minutes before advertised closing time. Small one room but noise levels were high with 20 or so in residence, suggest needs some soft furnishings or noise baffles to help prevent this.
Bexley - BOB (Bexley's Own Beer) | 4.20
Bexley - Hills & Holes Kent Hop Pale | 3.80 | | Teeny weeny bit too chilled but an easy drinking session ale |
Tonbridge - Coppernob | 3.80 | Not Tried
