Last hour of opening visit until close. The few in were knocking it back. As a nightcap ordered a keg Orbit (collaboration with Utopian) 7.4% Baltic Porter but it fobbed and was impossible to fill a glass so second opt was for UnBarred King Conka 10% Imperial Stout.

A first visit for me. The pub is showcasing beers from New Zealand this month. I have only listed the cask beers below.

I was very impressed with this place. Good food, good beer, prices lower than I'm used to in London.

Alvinne - Wild West Kriek-Framboise
6.00
Great to see an Alvinne beer on draught in England at a not-ridiculous price. And it's an absolute beauty. Tart raspberry and cherry.
An airy café-bar on the High Street opened in August 2017. Until conversion to pub use, the building was home to Lawson's Furniture Shop. Founded in 1763, at the time of its closure it was the oldest-established furniture showroom in England. The current building dates from 1878. Now it is a pub specialising in beer and cider across all formats. 6 handpumps and a rear wall with 16 keg taps.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 16 different beers and tried 8 of them.
