10 Jul 2020 (Stephen Harris)
This pub reopened today after the Coronavirus Lockdown. As one of their very last customers in March I thought it would be good to be one of the first on re-opening. I sat outside and got doused in cigarette smoke.
Yonder - Raspberry Gose | 4.00 | | From keg. Lovely on a summer evening, although not very beer-like. |
Polly's - Stop & Stare | 4.80 | | From key-keg. Intense hop flavours. Dry, earthy and piney. |
20 Mar 2020 (Stephen Harris)
Emergency beer can buying visit, on the way home. I drank a quick half, as it was empty here, and said goodbyes and good luck to the staff.
Three Hills - Hops Don't Grow on Trees | 4.80 | | From key-keg. Very tasty. |
28 Feb 2020 (Stephen Harris)
Polly's - Slacks | 6.00 | | From some kind of keg. A cloudy, golden IPA. Very fruity hop flavours. Tropical. |
Polly's - Pines | 6.40 | | From a keg. A cloudy, golden IPA. Thick, creamy and fruity, with little bitterness. |
19 Feb 2020 (Stephen Harris)
Another very quiet evening in here.
North - Baltic Porter with Cherries | 7.00 | | From a keg. Thick, strong and with a good cherry flavour. |
Drop Project - Overhead | 6.80 | | From keg. A bitter, resinous and citrusy IPA from south London. |
Beerbliotek - Woke Up Woke This Morning | 6.50 | | From a keg. A strong Gose with slight sourness and a lot of tropical fruit. |
23 Jan 2020 (Stephen Harris)
Very quiet in here tonight - where is everybody?
Donzoko - Step Two IPA | 6.00 | | From some form of keggery. Hazy gold. Both juicy and bitter, but also has a very slight metallic taint. |
08 Jan 2020 (Stephen Harris)
I moved on to here when Tap East became very busy.
Chorlton - Sarsaparilla Sour | 5.00 | | From keg. I think Sarsaparilla might be anew beer flavouring for me. It works very well in a sour - almost five stars. |
Burnt Mill - Rosetta Cone | 6.80 | | From key-keg. A full-on, hoppy Pale. Bittersweet. |
17 Dec 2019 (Stephen Harris)
Office party drinkers alert.
DEYA - Break Me Into Bigger Pieces | 6.50 | | From keg. A lemon and lime flavoured IPA. Very zesty. |
Odyssey - Bigger and Bolder | 6.00 | | From keg. Strong and juicy. |
17 Oct 2019 (Stephen Harris)
Thursday evening and busy here. A bit rainy and a bit chilly tonight, so everyone is sitting inside.
Kernel (The Kernel) - Biere de Saison Finchcocks #7 | 5.30 | | From a keg. Clear gold. Dry. Very pleasant drinking, lightly hoppy and quite tart. |
Pressure Drop - Fashion | 6.50 | | From key-keg. A full-bodied, dry and quite stout Porter. |
Night Shift - MUP | 6.00 | | From keg dispense. Thick and gloopy with a pulped fruit taste. |
07 Oct 2019 (Stephen Harris)
Another wet Monday evening, yet this time it's quite busy in here.
Three Hills - BRAVK: Marshmallow | 10.00 | | Keg of some kind. A massive, sweet, viscous Imperial Stout. Caramel. |
Kernel (The Kernel) - Pale Ale - Centennial Zeus | 5.40 | | From key-keg. I don't order The Kernel beers often enough. This was superb. |
01 Oct 2019 (Stephen Harris)
With heavy rain falling outside, there are just three of us here when I arrive. Me, myself and I.
Hop Hooligans - Melon Party | 7.00 | | On some kind of keg. A current favourite brewery. This is a strong, thick, hoppy IPA, heavily flavoured with rhubarb and melon. |
