The pub is found in Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 1HL.
This free house at 16 East Street in Horsham’s town centre was built in 1898 and was the 'tap' of the Anchor Hotel at 3 Market Square. In January 1975 a Horsham branch of CAMRA was formed at The Anchor Tap. After being shut for 30 years, it was reopened in February 2016 by Dark Star Brewery. The sale of that brewer to Fuller's in March 2018 meant the pub became free-of-tie. It is reported that The Anchor Tap’s launch in 2016 was such a success with “shoppers and beer lovers alike . . . that a one in, one out policy was adopted at the door.” An end of January 2026 visit proved it was just as popular! It was confirmed there are 3 cask ale lines on, and although not confirmed, there are said to be some 13 gas assisted beers and so offering customers an eclectic choice of brews in total.
We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 0 of them.
