Stopped in for lunch before climbing up the Cats Back hill just at the front of the Black Mountains. As always a pleasant stop. Glad we called up to reserve a table for lunch as it was really busy!

The pub is found in Craswall, Herefordshire, HR2 0PN.

A fabulous location reveals this small traditional pub. As you step into the pub through a small low doorway you enter a small flagstone floored room with a log burning stove into one corner. Two hatches reveal the bar, and leading up a few steps takes you into a larger room with more seating with a log fire burning. The windowsills are covered in maps, books about the area, local newsletters, books about traditional building techniques. The landlord usually sticks to the Wye Valley Brewery - in my experience the Best and Dorothy Goodbody, however he stil does pass many guest beers too. There are no handpumps, only the two or three gravity positions directly on the back of the bar. This pub specializes in a huge cider selection too (usually up to 10 barrels on under the bar!) A lot of the patrons are walkers passing by. The food here is very much gastro. It ranges in price and is always fantastic. More info at: http://tinyurl.com/mv5ulf

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
