Evening. Surprised to see garish red tent structures on the front elevation. Inside as traditional and patrician as ever with much less Fuller's influence than ever before.

13:45 Third stop having found the White Horse at Hampstead firmly shut although hours should be 12-11. Few in. Some good etched glass but not enough original fittings left.

Under new management, still managed to produce some interesting beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Stonehenge - Spire Ale3.80GoodGolden bitter with a bitter hop character, some malt and a dry, hoppy finish. My score 15/20.
Frome (formerly Milk Street) - ! Beer5.00AcceptableRather sweet and caramelly, suggesting slight diacetyl. The finish is dry and rather cloying. My score 14/20.

A delightful musty smell reminiscent of old buildings out in the country. It will be a shame if this pub closes its doors for good.

Just over a month to go before the lease expires on this pub, probably to close its doors for the last time. A steady flow of locals making it the busiest I've seen for a while.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Batemans - Dark Mild3.00ExcellentTop condition again here with characteristic creamy head and deep chocolate malt flavours with a little fruit in the finish. My score 16/20.

A good fairly busy pub, unfortunately it is threatened with closure as the pub's owners have recently applied for permission to turn it in to two four bedroom houses. There are a number of campaigns in progress to try and save the pub.

The pub is found in Hampstead, Greater London, NW3 1JD.

In New End, was run as an untouched traditional family run freehouse for many years with a Fuller's emphasis. The family left and a small chain took it over and made a minimum of changes. Outside seating at the front on a raised paved area. Closed summer/autumn 2017 and subsequently reopened with change of name, to Hampstead Lounge & Jazz Club, and ambience and decor. The downstairs cellar-bar has been converted into a small, intimate jazz club with its own stage and bar but with no real ale. Reverted to original name of Duke of Hamilton in November 2018.

We have visited this pub 11 times, seen 20 different beers and tried 9 of them.
