23:30 visit. A swift pint afore the mid-night train home...And our friendly host's here actually read P&B, and like what they read too?

17:00 visit. Last call today. This place has changed hands a few times since it's proper Real Ale pub position. It was a regular gbg entry, seven times over, but last in the guide in 2005. Has been much "trendified" and done up in a more contempory bar/cafe style with quality food on offer. The impressive Malt Whisky menu caught my attention too. Nice place. Your last/first call, convenient for the station.

This went off on my visit but swiftly replaced by the Crafty Devil.
4 room corner pub/bar off the High Street on the way to/from the railway station. Two rooms shared by a central bar with a smaller room at the side. There is also an upstairs “lounge”. 3 hand pumps. Closed and substantial building works taking place winter 2016/7 - future as a pub seems uncertain.
We have visited this pub 25 times, seen 56 different beers and tried 27 of them.
