Evening visit. Not the best time for a first visit, a Monday, door locked before advertised 11pm close, blagged a way in.

Busy in here on a Friday night; and there is something about the customers in this pub, who seem to be the type that just do not understand the meaning of “excuse me please” when you are trying to move about the place.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Moor - So'Hop4.10GoodGolden and sharply hoppy.

Mid-afternoon. You know how sometimes you just seem to be invisible at the bar and cannot get served? That happened to me here. And you know how sometimes you are sitting in a pub minding your own business and somebody comes along and says “Sorry mate, I’ve reserved that table”? That happened to me here too.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Crowded on Thursday evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ilkley - Siberia5.90ExceptionalA rhubarb saison! And absolutely lovely. Strong rhubarby taste. Dry rather than sweet. Good wheaty, spicey saison character.
Arbor Ales - Ryeteous Mild3.70ExcellentCopper-coloured. Strongly rye-flavoured with dusty dry-hopping. Not at all obvious why the word ‘mild’ has been used in the name. Good though.
Whitstable - Renaissance Ruby Mild3.80PoorSweet and bland. I couldn’t work out whether it was barrel-end or just a poor beer. It went off shortly after mine was poured, so I guess it was the former.

First pub on a crawl: 4pm, empty apart from one family group. Both beers I had suffered from being served too warm.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - Citra3.10Good..but too warm.
Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - California5.30GoodJust to be pedantic it said "Californian" on the pump clip.
Oakham - Citra4.20Not TriedABV given as 4.2% on pump clip

Fast becoming my favourite haunt. Busiest I've seen it. Friendly, accommodating staff and clued-up clientele supping a fine selection from cask and keg. We only didn't eat because there were no free tables! Stood out the front in the warm evening sun.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - California5.30ExceptionalDelighted to find this again and as good, if not better, than at the Cross Keys. Just a magnificent beer, golden and chocked full of chewy hop flavour that knocks spots off almost everything else.

Really busy Saturday mid afternoon with people watching the rugby. Landlord is doing a good job bringing excellent beer in cask, tap and bottle form to the Tower Bridge area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.40GoodI mean its good. Just not as good as at The Butchers Arms
Breconshire - Rambler's Ruin5.00Not Tried
Sambrook's - Wandle3.80Not Tried
08 Feb 2011 (Martin the Mildman)
Busy on a Tuesday evening atound 8pm with diners. Not much space for those who just want a drink. More of a Restaurant which happens to sell good beer and therefore not a favourite of mine.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Redemption - No.1 Dark Mild6.10AcceptableA collaborative brew with Kernel. A black strong mild which I found rather thick and cloying with too much sweet, sticky malt making it a challenge to drink. My score 14/20.
