Evening. Good range of Festival beers on tap.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - The Abbot's Confession8.50ExceptionalWhat a beer! Deceptively smooth for its abv and has none of the harsher tones of Abbot Reserve (a Wetherspoon festival regular itself)
Batemans - Hazelnut Brownie6.30ExcellentThe beer name says it all and the tastes have somehow been faithfully portrayed

Evening. I thought Wetherspoon had stopped the nonsense of leaving a clip showing when a beer has run out. Barmaid said they leave it on display until a new beer replaces it!!!

Evening visit and quiet perhaps because it is Monday. JDW pricing used to be simple (pretty much flat rate for guest real ales) but here it is complicated as detailed below. Mr Martin please consider re-simplification.

2050 hours visit. Misleadingly large premises from the look of the exterior brick and stone building. Very well frequented tonight in bar and seated dining areas.

Busy early on a Thursday evening and locals are served before non-locals so expect long waits if you are not from the area. More festival beers coming soon than on sale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Banks's - Jamaica Stout5.00ExcellentGood roasty and quite bitter stout with a good smooth mouthfeel. My score 16/20.
