Lunchtime and busy with mostly diners including us for a snack and a drink on a warm sunny day. Lone barmaid did well to keep the crowds appeased!

Surprisingly busy mid-week. Beware the juke box which can spring to life at any moment. Seems out of place in an ultra-traditional pub.

Cool, clean and refreshing. Could do with a little more body. Believe Plassey brewed a cask version at 4.2%.

What a great place - low, beamed ceilings, open fires and friendly, enthusiastic staff. Barman keen to promote local ales.

Solid well crafted mid-brown traditional bitter. excellent balance of malt and hops leading to spicy, drying finish. Fine session ale. If you'd like to learn more about Cwrw Llyn brewery try http://tinyurl.com/84p5hnq .

We spent three nights at a hotel in Caernarfon and made this place our local. I have only made one entry on this site to save repitition. The staff were friendly and efficient. The use of tight sparklers meant that we sometimes had to ask for top-ups but these were given with good grace.
The pub is found in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 1RW.
17th century town centre pub listed in CAMRA's Real Heritage Pubs of Wales. The popular public bar is situated to the left of the pub, and the quieter lounge bar is entered from a door on the right. There is a separate dining room, and the pub offers accommodation.
We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 6 of them.
