I met up here with Dave R and it is quiet in the early evening. Disappointing lack of anything brewed on the premises. Dave baulked at the prospect of two hoppy golden beers and drank cider instead, itching to move on.
Dark Star - Hophead Dry | 3.80 | | Unlike my friend, I was very happy indeed to find this beer here. |
Signature Brew - Session | 4.00 | Not Tried

I spotted this pub from a bus and decided to alight and try a beer.

Franklins - Citra IPA | 5.50 | Not Tried

Launch party tonight for the Solvay Society Brewery. They had been brewing in Walthamstow but have re-located to the cellar here. Pleasantly busy for the event. Three Solvay Society beers on key-keg, alongside three cask conditioned beers. All the Belgian-style beers showed promise to my mind and will improve as the new brewery kit settles in.
Solvay Society - Tritium | 8.90 | | Very low carbonation, verging on flat from the key keg. A murky orange colour. A tingle of peppercorn and rye on the tip of the tongue. Intriguing and unusual. |
Solvay Society - Structure of Matter | 5.00 | | A decent Belgian Pale Ale on key keg. |
Solvay Society - Columb | 5.00 | | On key keg dispense, pale and cloudy. A slightly sour Saison. |
Purity - Pure Gold | 3.80 | Not Tried
Magic Rock - High Wire | 5.50 | Not Tried
Dark Star - Darkness | 3.50 | Not Tried

Early evening visit with Dave R. The pub is quiet and relaxing. My first chance to try the home brew from here.
Hops & Glory - English Rose | 5.50 | | Amber/orange in colour. A strong IPA with all-English hops, giving a bitter flavour. The addition of rose petals adds a certain fruity spiciness. |
Titanic - English Glory | 4.50 | | A very good, traditional English Premium Bitter. |
London Fields - Shoreditch Triangle IPA | 6.00 | Not Tried

I popped in to check out the latest incarnation of this pub – very pleasant – and to watch the first half of the England vs Brasil game on TV. Just a handful of other customers present.
Tyne Bank - Silver Dollar | 4.90 | | I like this beer, which seems widely available at the moment. This pint is very fresh and has a harsh hoppiness to the bottom of the glass. |
Ascot - Final Furlong (formerly Posh Pooch) | 4.20 | Not Tried
