BeerABVScoreNotes
Val-Dieu - Cuveé 8006.00GoodA special beer to celebrate the Abbey’s 800th anniversary. It is pale gold in colour with a little spiciness.

18 Jul 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Late–afternoon. I stay in the Tap Room which is slightly less busy than the downstairs bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Saint-Feuillien - Belgian Costal IPA6.00Excellent2017 edition of this beer. A big, golden, bitter, US-style IPA that still tastes distinctly Belgian.
Brasserie d'Achouffe - Cherry Chouffe Rouge8.00ExcellentA deep red-coloured beer with pink foam. Very strongly flavoured with cherry. Lovely.
Belgo Sapiens - Polarius5.00AcceptablePale, golden and dry. A clean, pretty straightforward lager.
28 Jun 2017 (Stephen Harris)
Late-afternoon visit. The various bars all seem crowded today.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brouwerij Huyghe - Delirium Nocternum8.50ExcellentBlack with a creamy head. Rich and strong.

BeerABVScoreNotes

I’m back in Brussels on business for a couple of days, but again my agenda only allows for a very quick visit here. It is rammed in the mid-evening, but I get served quickly in the ground floor bar.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brasserie d'Achouffe - Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA Triple9.00ExcellentOn keg dispense. Luscious, strong, hoppy beer with distinctive Belgian yeast background flavour.
14 Sep 2015 (Stephen Harris)
A three day business trip to Brussels, but this is my only pub visit. And it’s just a quick one before meeting some colleagues at a nearby restaurant. I give up queueing to be served in the Tap Room and descend to the basement for a large bottle of Saison all to myself.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brasserie Friart - St Feuillien Saison6.50ExcellentA very nice, authentic Belgian Saison with good hop flavours. This bottle is a ‘dry-hopped’ version of the beer. Interestingly, I don’t think it as good as some Saisons from, say, Brew by Numbers or One Mile End breweries in London. Perhaps English brewers will redefine Saisons in the way that US brewers redefined IPAs.
16 Mar 2015 (HSB)
16:00 My first visit since the complex of bars has developed from the original cellar bar. The ground floor draught only bar is now badged as the Delirium Tremens Pub. The place was reasonably quiet. Got talking to a fellow beer enthusiast from Oregon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Silly - Cauwe Tripel8.00Good
Rulles - 13th Anniversary Ale5.00AcceptableBit lack lustre

The pub is found in Brussels, Belgium, 1000.

Probably the best-known beer speciality pub in Brussels. It is situated a short walk from the Grand Place, in the miniscule Impasse Fidelite. Actually, the pub now forms part of the Delirium Village, which occupies the entire alleyway and has six or seven separate bars, with varying opening hours. At its heart is the original Café, which has a ground floor "Tap Room" featuring keg beers and the large basement bar which has up to 2,000 bottled beers in stock at any time. It is just the place to look for that obscure brewery bottle you have been seeking. The beer is supplemented by excellent cheese or cold meat platters. Often very busy.

We have visited this pub 11 times, seen 20 different beers and tried them all.
