Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Leyden - Crowning Glory | 6.80 | Dark ruby colour with thin beige head. Coffeeish dry malt aroma. Toasty. Some dark fruits. Very good aroma. Nice and full in mouth. Good in mouth, some choc. Excellent beer. | |
Downton - Dark Delight | 5.50 | Deep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Roasted malt and dark fruit aroma. Nice flavours in mouth. I do like this, some lovely malts, dry malt bordering on the powdery. Full in mouth with a touch of sourness. | |
Broughton - Scottish Oatmeal Stout | 4.20 | Black colour with dark brown edges and tan head. Liquorice stout. Good fullness in mouth, some choc. Some good roasted flavours. Choc/coffee flavours. | |
Wye Valley - HPA (Hereford Pale Ale) | 4.00 | Gold colour with thin white head. Decent citrus hop aroma. Decent in mouth, some more citrus. Bit of hay on aroma. Very decent gold/blond ale, ticks all the boxes. Some good citrus on the finish. Bit of tangerine. | |
Bazens' - Pacific Bitter (aka Navigator) | 3.80 | Gold colour with no head. Bit medicinal on aroma. More medicinal/iodine in mouth, some toffee. Finish is pleasant with heat from the iodine. Some good dryness on end. | |
Three B's - Tackler's Tipple | 4.30 | Chestnut colour with thin bubbly off white head. Some green apple. Decent malt in mouth. Some nice toffee/butter, some earthy hop finish. | |
Pictish - Brewers Gold | 3.80 | Gold colour with bubbly thin white head. Odd hoppy aroma. Quite good in mouth, fullish, some juiciness and tehn nice hop finish. Citrusy. Sweetish nose. Sweetish malt and citrus in mouth. Bit of toffee. Nice enough. | |
Hadrian and Border - Farne Island Pale Ale | 4.00 | First beer of the day. Crystal clear amber colour with disappearing head. Some good stony hard water, some nice citrusy hop. It’s a bitter. More hard water in mouth, pretty nice rose petal and then earthy dry finish. Fine. | |
Branscombe (was Branscombe Vale) - Hells Belles | 4.80 | Ruby/brown colour with lasting beige head. Bit of acidy bleach on aroma as well as some dark malts. Dark plum fruit in mouth, bit juicy. Bit sharp on finish. Some syrupy malt, but not terrific. |

The pub is found in Battersea, Greater London, SW11 5TN.
This beer festival normally runs from a Wednesday to Friday and is sited in the hall behind the Town Hall only 10 minutes walk east of Clapham Junction railway station. The central stillage is surrounded by seating as well as an excellent foreign beer bar, cider/perry stand and Camra stands. Not all of the beers are on at once, but new beers come on throughout the festival. Beers of the festival were Bazens Pacific Bitter, Leyden Crowning Glory and Downton Dark Delight. SW London Camra pub of the year 2006 was Bricklayers Arms SW15.
We have visited this pub once, seen 9 different beers and tried them all.
