I got here on day 2, so the Thursday, about 10 minutes before it opened on the day when snow came to England. Trains were ok and the staff allowed the early people to wait in the hall out of the cold before opening. Friendly staff. I met up with a couple of guys from Ratebeer.com and had a very good day. The foreign beer bar was especially good and Olaf who supplies the German beers was in good form. Got very busy after 5pm and there was a longish queue of people to get in when I left at 20.10

Leyden - Crowning Glory6.80ExcellentDark ruby colour with thin beige head. Coffeeish dry malt aroma. Toasty. Some dark fruits. Very good aroma. Nice and full in mouth. Good in mouth, some choc. Excellent beer.
Downton - Dark Delight5.50ExcellentDeep ruby colour with lasting beige head. Roasted malt and dark fruit aroma. Nice flavours in mouth. I do like this, some lovely malts, dry malt bordering on the powdery. Full in mouth with a touch of sourness.

Wye Valley - HPA (Hereford Pale Ale)4.00GoodGold colour with thin white head. Decent citrus hop aroma. Decent in mouth, some more citrus. Bit of hay on aroma. Very decent gold/blond ale, ticks all the boxes. Some good citrus on the finish. Bit of tangerine.
Bazens' - Pacific Bitter (aka Navigator)3.80AcceptableGold colour with no head. Bit medicinal on aroma. More medicinal/iodine in mouth, some toffee. Finish is pleasant with heat from the iodine. Some good dryness on end.

Pictish - Brewers Gold3.80AcceptableGold colour with bubbly thin white head. Odd hoppy aroma. Quite good in mouth, fullish, some juiciness and tehn nice hop finish. Citrusy. Sweetish nose. Sweetish malt and citrus in mouth. Bit of toffee. Nice enough.
Hadrian and Border - Farne Island Pale Ale4.00AcceptableFirst beer of the day. Crystal clear amber colour with disappearing head. Some good stony hard water, some nice citrusy hop. It’s a bitter. More hard water in mouth, pretty nice rose petal and then earthy dry finish. Fine.
Branscombe (was Branscombe Vale) - Hells Belles4.80AcceptableRuby/brown colour with lasting beige head. Bit of acidy bleach on aroma as well as some dark malts. Dark plum fruit in mouth, bit juicy. Bit sharp on finish. Some syrupy malt, but not terrific.
