As seems usual when I visit, this pub was crowded in the early evening rush.

Mid-evening and doing a decent trade. Prices are now typical for the area, as opposed to even worse than usual for the area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mad Squirrel (formerly Red Squirrel) - London Porter5.00ExcellentA good, full-bodied, chocolaty Porter.
Hammerton - Life on Mars4.60GoodRed Ale with both a fruity sweetness and a hop bitterness.

This seems to be one of those pubs that is always busy. Odd how the cask beer is now cheaper than it was two and a half years ago – although £4:50 a pint is not exactly a bargain.
BeerABVScoreNotes
CTZN (formerly Kew) - Richmond Rye4.30GoodA hazy, amber-coloured beer with the spiciness of rye.

I had somehow forgotten about the bad taste left in my mouth by my last visit and popped in here for a pint before catching a Jubilee line train from across the road. Still expensive. Still crowded.

Extraordinarily high prices did not seem to be putting off a busy rush hour trade. When I queried the £4:80 I had just been charged (without prior warning) for my pint, I just received a shrug from the barman. Don’t expect to see me in here again in a hurry.

Single bar, street corner pub found on Blackfriars Road, right outside Southwark tube station. The Ring boxing arena was located here and this pub of the same name displays much boxing memorabilia and photos. Pavement tables. This pub is in the same ownership as the nearby Kings Arms, and has the same bewildering attitude to prices. 5 handpumps for real ales.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 22 different beers and tried 7 of them.
