A busy Friday evening but the volume from the televised football game was so loud that I wonder whether nearby pubs could have managed with their sound systems muted. People were having to shout whilst trying to converse. The food looked good and I was hungry but owing to noise I decided to head for the Parcels Yard.

Banks's - Young's London Original (was Bitter) - previously brewed in Bedford and at Wychwood3.70GoodA good pint of Young's Ordinary. I wish Dosser had been here to witness me paying £5.05 for a pint.

You know how some pubs these days print lists of cocktails and put some rather fanciful, optimistic prices beside them? Well here, tonight, was a group of people actually drinking the stuff and looking a bit worse for wear. I tried, but failed, to imagine a group of aging gangsters sitting in a quiet corner here, plotting the Hatton Garden diamond heist.

Sambrook's - Pumphouse Pale Ale4.20GoodGolden, and served with a big, creamy head. An easy-drinking Pale Ale in good condition.

Easter Sunday mid afternoon - late lunchers with quiet, discrete football being shown.
